It is essential to plan the entire university education, including how to finance it, before the student leaves the home country. Some colleges, universities and U.S. consulates require students to provide certification of funding for the entire planned period of study. Universities are generally engerous with giving out scholarships. Roughly speaking, there are three types of scholarships that colleges provide to students. Merit scholarships are provided to students based on the student’s academic achievements. The better the student’s grades the better the scholarship the student can receive.
